Bismillah que nos visita desde el Institut Francis Crick, y el King's College de Londres y que lleva por título "Exploiting Bistable Architectures to Create Dynamic Networks with Emergent Properties"
Biography
Aisha N. Bismillah is a Royal Commission for the Exhibition of 1851-Ramsay Memorial Trust Research Fellow exploring the use of photoswitchable fluorophores within biomedicine and energy storage at The Francis Crick Institute as well as King’s College London. Aisha obtained her MChem degree from the University of Central Lancashire, also completing three undergraduate research placements, one of which was in the USA. Following a summer in industry as a trainee researcher at Veolia, she joined the laboratory of Prof. Paul McGonigal in 2015
at Durham University researching ‘shapeshifting’ systems. During this time, she also completed a placement with Prof. Surya Prakash at the University of Southern California. She was subsequently awarded a US–UK All Disciplines Fulbright Scholarship to join Prof. Ivan Aprahamian’s laboratory at Dartmouth College where she worked on coupling synthetic negative feedback loops. Aisha returned to the McGonigal group at the University of York in 2021, before moving to the McTernan group in 2024 as an 1851–Ramsay Research Fellow.
